Bamboo: To Pot or Re-Trench?

The decking and posts used to construct the retaining trench were rotting so we had to remove.  We are left with bamboo plants in an supported and unmissable barrier.  Would you advise we try and repot these bamboo plants to containers or are we better off not disturbing them and perhaps shoring up with a more substantial barrier like sleepers?

We love our bamboos but we know that they can cause us problems.
Non invasive ones ...aren't... and they need to be curtailed and this isn't as easy as it sounds.
Repot? Very difficult but making a new barrier maybe easier.
    That also isn't easy.
If you haven't found new growths outside the old barrier then maybe you can put down new barriers.
BUT you will need to keep a look out for new growths as they can spread under slabs/concrete and pop up where you don't want them.
    Still lovely plants.
