I'm getting bad vibes from my Ribes
Hi all,
New to the forum and fairly new to gardening too, so looking for advice from others more experienced.
I have a Ribes Sanguineum in my garden and it gave a great display of flowers last year.
However, it failed to leaf out this year except for the lower branches near to the ground. Checked the bark and the leaves for any odd signs such as discolouration or bumps (worrying that it could be fungus related) but have not spotted anything. The leaves I do have look healthy.
There are "shoots" on the bare branches and when I cut one off, it was green inside but not much. Could this be related to the chilly start to spring we had this year? Could that have prevented the plant from leafing out or should I be worried about something else?
Included some pictures for reference (the weeds around the base have since been removed).
Any help greatly appreciated!
