Chillies

My Chillies are 2ft tall and on a south facing windowsill.  I’d like to move them to our unheated greenhouse.  Can I just move them there now or do I need to follow some sort of hardening off process?

That depends on the night time temps in your greenhouse.  They are happiest when it's no lower than 15C but will cope down to 12C.  Below that will check them.

Harden off to be safe.  GH during the day and back in at night for a week or two.  My local forecasts show night temps still dipping to 6 or 7C, and even though an unheated GH will probably stay a couple of degrees above that, they won't be happy until it doesn't get below 10C and preferably 14C.  Max-min thermometers are invaluable in this situation, to check exactly what your own variations are.  :)

Thanks @BobTheGardener I have done as you suggested.  I have been meaning to buy a max-min thermometer, and your post has reminded me to put it on the shopping list.  I wonder if you can get one that sends a signal to your smartphone, or to a companion thermometer inside the house.  I'm sure those must exist.
