Hello. Help needed please with my photina.

  • The same thing has happened to one of ours. We had 3 and 2019 this happened and we had to cut it down. This year we have the same thing but there are also signs of new growth too lower down. We are just waiting to see what happens. We have also had mad amounts of rain. Which part of the country are you in?

    its rained none stop for nearly 3 weeks

    I recently went to a very reputable nursery to buy a photinia.  They were all looking like that and the owner said it was, without doubt, frost damage.  I went to a second (also excellent) nursery and theirs were all the same.  The cold April nights damaged the leaves.  I found the least damaged one and planted it and it is fine, looking quite happy, has already grown, but still has a few damaged leaves. 
    I’ll trim them off in a few months when it’s got over the stress of moving.
