Badly frosted hebes

My hebes did very badly with the late frosts and I dont know whether it is a good idea to cut them right back - there is very little living foliage.  Any advice would be gratefully received.

  • Fingers crossed. The small one in my front garden bounced back the other year despite hard pruning of the dead bits.

I hard pruned a similar sorry specimen ( one  I like to call variagated green with purple flowers) in April and it's coming back to life. It hates hard winters . The others seem to fare better. This is the second winter it's had this treatment. Mine won't flower for sure this year but its alive.
  • I had the same.poor thing looked dreadful so I've pruned it by over a half.this year it won't do too much but it looks better now and should be fine
