Alkanet - good in the wild but an invasive weed in a garden.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

It's a weed, green alkanet. Has deep roots, hard to dig up and it spreads a lot, but is very pretty in a wild place.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Was that in a garden or in the wild? I suggest Lungwort,
Pulmonaria officinalis
.

Alkanet, not Pulmonaria.
How can you lie there and think of England

@punkdoc
Thanks for correcting me. Would you say that is
Pentaglottis sempervirens
aka
Anchusa sempervirens
? I've never seen them where I live. Same family as Pulmonaria, by the way (
Boraginaceae
).

Pentaglottis sempervirens is a potentially invasive non native plant. See
