I grow all my Lily’s in pots except fritillary they are attracted by smell ,so as soon as my Lily’s show above ground I spray the pot rims with garlic spray or peppermint oil do it now and again done it for years and have very little problem with this pest just the odd one.

I gave up on lilies after about two years, I couldn't deal with the daily frustrations of those damned beetles. No matter how many I picked off and stomped on (larvae included), there just never seemed to be an end to them. I don't know where they came from either. I gave them to my OH's mum and she's had very little trouble with them! I did give fritillaries a go but almost immediately the lily beetles descended upon them. I gave up trying to grow anything that they like to eat!
