Any idea what this purple ground cover plant is?

    Thank you very much, I was hoping to name the purple ground hugging plant :) I have the said phormium and I love the combination!

    We need a better pic than that I'm afraid ... cant see the leaves from here ... my first thought is possibly a sedum, but that's more of a guess than anything ...  ;)

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Sorry I took the cue from the main subject in the photo. Is the image from a website? if so a link would be good if there is a closer shot of the plant

    But that photo is of the phormium and you said you wanted to name the purple ground hugging plant. It's the short purple plant we need a better photo of.

    Could be purple New Zealand burr (Acaena inermis ‘Purpurea’), seeing as the source website is NZ, but it’s difficult to see any closer

    You could use the contact button on the Auckland botanical gardens website and ask them what it is.
