Soil
Hi,
We have just had new slabs laid. We have extended the lawn area slightly and so have filled with top soil. The soil has been down for 4 days and is incredibly stodgy to the extent that I can't level it to place lawn seed. What can I do to make the soil solid enough?

Patience is what's needed.
A very difficult talent to achieve.
Otherwise, if it's just wet [ as bare soil often becomes after rain ] you'll just need to wait until drier conditions, when the soil is more friable and suited to seeding. Once there's a layer of grass, the soil will become drier anyway as the grass takes up the moisture.
