Gardenia jasmine

I saw this gardenia jasmine today in range that reminded me of jasmine sumbac from back home. My question is is gardenia jasmine house plant or can i plant it in west facing border or does it need to go in pots.

I agree, they do look like like the Jasimine Sambacs. The newer ones (single flowers) are more hardier, but still not tough enough to be grown in the ground. It's best to keep them in pots so you can tuck them under a window when it is colder in the winter time.
