My Little Olive Tree

Can anyone tell me please - can I prune my little olive tree at this time of year?  It's looking a little straggly and if so, how do I do it?

A long time ago I read somewhere that around july is the best time to prune olives.
I've had one in a big pot for many years and I give it a tidy up around that time.
Mine seems to be happy, so I it's probably ok to prune around that time.
I just remove bits that I think look out of place and I have to keep the height down to about 6ft 6" as it's on my patio where I have an awning that goes over it.
I give it seaweed extract about once a month during the growing season and that's about all the tlc it gets.

I even had an olive to harvest in January this year 😂

Over here in Spain, Olives are usually pruned immediately after harvest which can be anytime from late September to March, depending on location/variety. The advice wherever you are is to wait until you are sure you have had your last frost. I prune lightly to shape my potted olives, but the trees in the ground get a slightly harder prune. Don’t go too mad though, as it will spoil the overall shape and it will respond by sending up vertical ‘water shoots’. Impressive harvest, @Pete.8 😉
