Pink flamingo

Do I prune a recently potted 5ft salix pink flamingo  in May
it's turning brown

    It's a willow.  Water it copiously and, if you can, get it in the ground and in a sheltered spot or the leaves will go brown from thirst and wind damage.   
    Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
