I grow cirrhosa Freckles here and love it. Often have a few blooms on it by Xmas and the bees love it. It's not often affected by the weather but of course we don't get such severe frosts as Obelixx had in Belgium. The cold winds we've had recently has however scorched some of the more exposed new growth.

Here is a picture of my clematis early sensation grown from a plug plant planted last year. It is still in its pot and will be planted in the ground in the next few months.

And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

Our clematis armandi has been growing up an North face wall/fence.
This year it has been outstanding.
Evergreen and flowering in the late winter/spring and fragrant.
    Lovely plant.

I do love C. armandii but it's just too big and vigorous for here. I do get to enjoy one though - my neighbour on the other side grows one, much of which is in my garden / in my shed gutter / growing up my yew 🤣.

I've just realised that Winter Beauty is not hardy. It's a sheltered spot in London, but  not worth the risk. Fragrant Oberon looks and sounds divine but difficult to get hold of and a bit small. Jingle Bells is winning at the moment.
