    Plant as bulbs in autumn but plant on their side to avoid water settling in the natural hollow in the bulb and causing it to rot.
    Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

    I'm having a guess at Friillaria imperialis :)
    It grows from a bulb, usually bought and planted in the autumn. Comes in red/orange or yellow versions and has a circle of drooping bell flowers, with the leaves in a tuft on top.
