Help to identify this plant please!

Hello!
Could anyone please help to identify this plant? Tall tree in house just moved to. Suspicion is of an unusual variety of beech, elm or lime. Thank you if anyone can help! Polly

A photo of the whole tree and a clear pic of the leaves would help with a firmer ID 😊

where is @Silver surfer? She'll know.
    Devon.
  • Is this a current photo? The leaves look quite mature for this time of year. Has it flowered already or do you think flowers are to come? That may help with the ID.
  • Thank you to all suggestions so far to help! @Hostafan1 unlikely but thank you for the suggestion and for tagging @Silver surfer incase they may know!@rachelQrtJHBjb it has flowered already yes. The branch is from yesterday that had fallen off. It is about 20 metres tall and growing well in a North Wales climate!

Sorry, don't normally look under problem solving!

    Interesting.
    Agree with Dove.
Would like really clear/sharp pics to show fresh leaves.veins, edges etc

    What were the flowers like...colour.?
Very early to have finished flowering in North Wales

    Wondering about Nothofagus sp.????
    Alternate leaves.
    Flowers very early.
    Flowers tiny.
There may be evidence of old seed pods on other parts of the tree.
