Anyone identify this? In the raised veg plot

It's a beast, there are quite a few of them, had to dig up a couple,in the middle of my broad beans.  They have huge white roots. Lots of leaves with a blue/grey hue. There is an asparagus bed at the end. Last year spuds in there,we do  get a lot of self seeded opium poppies around the garden, but have never seen roots like this. Hubby is convinced it's some veg I've planted,it's not. It's in the compost bin now

  • I was going to say the leaves look like poppy.  especially possible if lots have appeared in different places. if there are any left, leave one in and let us know what it is :-)
