Cornflowers?

I was just looking at a recent post about cornflowers and thought - I've got some of them!
But from what I've read, cornflowers are annuals.
I planted what I thought were cornflowers in 2017 and they've been coming back every year, so I'm not sure what the are. I've got several clumps, and they've been there since I planted them out in 2017.
They do self-seed a bit and I leave the papery seed heads on for as long as they stand upright

Any ideas folks?

    Probably wrong , but looks a bit like Chicory .

    Not cornflowers, cornflowers are annuals and perennials. The perennial one is Centaurea Montana.
    It could be Catananche caerulia.
    Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    I've been thinking they were cornflowers all along...
