Full sun plants

The eastern side of our garden is lined with tall conifers, meaning that side doesn’t get the sun until around midday (until around 7pm).

Is it ok to plant to plants that are stated to require full sun along this side, seeing as they would get around 7 hours sun per day?

 Thanks.

My first thought is wondering how close to the conifers you want to plant?  They may not have left much room/nutrient in the soil for anything else...  But to answer your question, yes, that sounds like enough sun!  S'more than I get, sadly...

It's enough sun but conifers rob the soil of moisture and nutrients. Have a dig and see how dry it is. You can always add lots of manure and compost and fertiliser but having to water all the time is a bore and not eco friendly in a dry summer.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Thanks both. I was planning on planting Hylotelephium spectabile which may be ok with the low nutrient/moisture?
