White spots growing on shrub

Hello everyone, I've recently noticed some white spots growing on the branches of the shrub in my garden. May I ask what they are and what should I do about them? Thank you in advance.

I think that might be Lichen on the branches. Not likely to cause any issues to your shrub, but can signify damp/moist conditions, or roots sitting on damp compacted soil.
  • Thank you Borderline, now I'm relieved as I was wondering if those are some kinds of harmful fungus.

    Definitely lichen  :)
