I have just bought a seedling of the above variety and wonder if it can be grown in a container. Also, How can I avoid mildew which has been a problem with my already established phlox of which I don't know the variety. Thank you.
They will take a couple of seasons to get established so it might be worth growing them on a bit in plant pots to grow a good root system before you plant in the garden. They stand and a better chance of surviving if you do. Once they are big enough to plant in the garden I would give them a good mulch of compost to retain moisture. Mine have taken 3 years to be fully established, but worth persevering with them.

Thats good advice, Thank you I'll do that. Where I live the soil is a sandy so I will buy some good compost and I think there's something called Rootgrow. The plant is only a baby in a 9cm x 9cm pot so if I graduate the pots over a few months, It should be successful ? and then ready to put in the ground. Thank you.
