Shrub ID please

Afternoon all, can anyone ID this shrub please, with apologies for the pics’ quality. The friend who wants to know says this of it:

“It isn't spikey. The leaves are very small. Like ilex crenata but a bit softer. Bottom branches are tangled.”

Many thanks to anyone who can help, cheers Johnny

I wondered about Euonymus but had no idea of cultivar. Thanks for the suggestion Anni.

The second photo is not clear, so hard to tell with habit, but first photo looks more like a Lonicera Nitida shrub. There are a few variegated ones.

Thanks Borderline, it does look very much like a variegated Lonicera nitida what with the narrow leaves. Cheers, Johnny
