Is it Buddleia or Lilac

All around my area (SE London suburbs) there is a plant currently in flower in peoples gardens that really really looks like buddleia, but the information I can find says that buddleias flower in June/July.  Do you think it is likely to be lilac instead?

    Without a photo, it is difficult to be sure but Lilacs are in bloom now whereas Buddleias aren't so the best bet is Lilac.

    It's probably Lilac if it's flowering now. A photo would clinch it.
