Fungus on Silver Birch Tree

My silver birth tree appears to have some orange fungus growing on it. How to I get rid of the fungus before it kills my tree? Thanks.

Hi @alexwong3 Welcome to the forum. :)  I am sorry that your first thread has failed to receive an answer. This can easily happen if there is no one around at the time to be able to answer your query. It doesn't take long before your thread has moved on and unless members are looking back at past threads it can be forgotten. I am "bumping" up your thread for you to see if you get an answer this time. You can always bump up your own threads in the future if you wish.
I have a silver birch and must admit that I wouldn't like to see that fungus on mine. Maybe it is harmless but sorry I don't have the answer. Let's hope some other member will know.

Sorry, I don't recognise it but unfortunately you won't be able to remove it as the mycelium will be embedded throughout the trunk. Most fungi live on dead wood so your birch may be reaching end of life in any event.

Does it feel wet?  The only thing I've found on the Internet which looks similar is a slime flux, known in America as Deer Vomit... sorry!  Its scientific name is Fusicolla merismoides.  If that's what it is, it's a combination of a fungus and a yeast which feed on the sugars in the sap rising under the bark in spring, and will disappear as the season progresses.  But this is just a guess, I'm afraid...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
