Plug plants

Those look terrible!! I hope you're going to complain...

I've always had good results from JParkers previously but this year they're delivering very late. I've only received one of seven things I ordered so far. They all said delivery Mid-April to Early-May so I would have thought should have arrived by now.
  • I've had lots of plug plants arrive on time and in excellent condition from Sarah Raven the last couple of weeks.
  • @Singing Gardener yes, I've written to T&M asking for a refund. I notice that the envelope that the plants came in says that it has been posted on 5 May and it only arrived today, so it's been bumping around the postal system for quite a few days, but they should package the plugs better as plants that size are so fragile and wont recover from this level of damage. Out of the 36 plugs I think I can salvage 2.
Sorry to hear that J Parker's orders are also delayed, I was going to use them next year, but I'm rethinking my plans for future plant purchases.

My local Wilco and Wickes have bedding trays with 6 garden ready plants for £2/£3, not as much variety and colour selection as you get when ordering via mail order, but at least you know what you're getting.
  • @Winchester_flare glad to hear you have had a good experience with Sarah Raven. I have ordered dahlia tubers and salvias from them in the past and they have been brilliant, all still going strong years later. I ordered some petunia tidal wave from them last year, they were gorgeous all summer and I over-wintered them in my greenhouse and all are coming back to life this year. They don't have a huge selection of annual bedding/hanging basket plants though and I feel like their prices have gone up, it's often cheaper to use my local garden centre.

  • I've had my begging plugs from T&M since the middle of March. They are getting quite big and most have buds, I'm desperate to get them out into the garden ASAP.

The images shared here looked awful :( and not at all like mine looked when they arrived. Definitely unacceptable
