First edibles from this year, so satisfying

Small and lovely… they will go well with my salad for lunch!  When everything flower related seems to be struggling it’s nice to know some things are doing well.

    They look very nice. 🍽
All I’ve had from the garden so far are chives, mint and rhubarb.

I've been picking lettuce leaves from my little gems, that are patiently waiting to go out, for three weeks. At this rate I will have finished this batch and need to re sow.😆

the lettuce are not too far away, I suppose I could be picking leaves too. No space on my terrace for rhubarb but oh how lovely….

I've got radishes too, Jacqui.  Chandelle de Glace if you can get hold of them.  Crispy and tender, and lettuces that I planted (not sowed) early March under plastic tunnel.
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

Don’t know what variety these were, it was old seed that I took a chance on. I have a new pack for the next sowing, must check what variety they are. As I’m the only one in the house who likes them I don’t do too many at a time.

I've only had some basil so far but I've made 3 great servings of pesto and thoroughly enjoyed it! Coriander is ready to pick and use, too. My radishes are starting to get plump although I'm still a few weeks off from harvesting I reckon.

    .
Forced rhubarb, lots off, some eaten the rest in the freezer, chives, yuck and waiting a few weeks yet for Dunluce potatoes in tubs in the GH sown 5th Feb, I have had a poke in the compost they are about the size of a large hens egg so far, so a few more days won't hurt!
Earlier I had some Kohl Rabi growing from last year which had been too small to harvest, they bulked up somewhat over winter and although not looking too good they were fine to eat, not so some Spring cabbage they were only a few leaves and no hearts so ended up on the compost bin!

I pulled radishes today too  . And enough rhubarb for a rhubarb crumble cake 😋
