    Thank you all for your kind words. unfortunately it has completely uprooted, and I am not strong enough to do it myself anyway. I will have to except it, and look at what I can hopefully grow there for the future.

    What a lovely garden.  So sad you lost your lovely lilac but I do hope you can find a suitable alternative for that spot.
    Gardening in East Suffolk on dry sandy soil.
