Once a house plant gets to about 20, it deserves a name.
Cars - never. That makes me cringe.

Something I have read frequently in recent weeks that annoys me is people calling plants, especially young plants, their babies. It is as vomit-inducing as calling a cat or dog a fur baby. Also, ascribing gender to plants, especially if they have a female name, is more unwarranted anthropomorphism.
I have to bite my tongue. I usually don't respond either, even if it's a query I could possibly help with.
Re the cars. When I bought the one I have now, the bloke asked me what I was going to call it.
I resisted to the temptation to say Eh?
I just said - 'the car'....

When my brother was a young blade he bought a secondhand bright red convertible MG sports car off a fellow student. The thing was beautiful to look at but an absolute lemon.

He wrote in white paint on the driver’s door (which curiously opened backwards) “don’t bother stealing this car unless you want to enjoy spending every weekend underneath it fixing the bastard.” It was never touched. 😁
