Best way to trim new turf?

Good morning to all - during the coldest, driest April on record my husband lifted and re-turfed our 100 ft + long victorian garden !  Thankfully it is doing well 3 weeks down the line but once I can walk on it again I will need to reshape the border edges and so for my question - edging tool, serrated knife or saw?  Just to clarify my son-in-law is a qualified garden designer and landscaper and informs me that they use an ordinary saw!?!?  Anyone had good results with any one of these please?  I have not always had neat results when shaping with the edging tool. Thanks for your help!

    Dovefromabove - I've already tried that but I think he wants to forget work at the weekends and he's busy doing his own garden having just moved!!!  Great idea though!!:)

    As someone who can't cut bread straight I still favour a bread knife and a builders line and a plank of wood for straight lines and a hose for curves then paint alongside the hose.

    Thanks for the tips - I guess a lovely sharp bread knife isn’t that dissimilar to a saw!!  Going to give it a go!!! 😊

    If the turf has taken I don't understand how it be cut with a saw well not easily , bread knife maybe so but still awkward . Just use the a Half moon lawn edger that's what it for . When I've laid turf in the past I've used a edge shears much easier but they aren't much use for turf that's already took.

    Bread knife gets my vote too.  The soil under the turf will still be comparatively soft so the bread knife should work well and will be a lot quicker than a half moon edger.
