Wild Sorrell Root Storage

Hi,
Someone gave me a handful of wild Sorrell root to try and establish. Problem is I was in a rush so just lobbed the bare roots in a pot in my shed.
Do I need to go rescue it and get it I soil or will it be ok just sitting in a pot for a couple of days? - the sheds at my allotment not at home in case I sound horribly lazy!🤣
