Looking for some advice please.
In the last couple of days we have realised we have a crane fly larvae problem, they have started to come out of the grass and onto the patio and the grass is mostly ruined.

In the last couple of days we have realised we have a crane fly larvae problem, they have started to come out of the grass and onto the patio and the grass is mostly ruined.
I have been reading some contradictory information on the internet, so have the following questions:
Are we too late to put Nematodes down, now that the larvae are coming out of the grass?
The birds have been feeding on them, will this get rid of them?
Should we put new turf down and if so does the ground need to be treated with nematodes before we do this to ensure they are gone?
