    I wrapped our plastic compost bins with bubblewrap (surplus packing) last autumn, supplemented with old fleece and have been pleasantly surprised how much hotter they have become. They've also got more worms inside. OH refuses to do his compost duty!

    The smaller you cut your compost additions, the faster it will transform. The more you aerate it, the faster it will change. Add a little of your garden soil and a bit of horse or cow manure and it will go even faster.

    I used to scrounge pet bedding from the local GC when they had a pet section. Rabbit and Guinea Pig droppings plus old straw. It used get my heap cookin' quite well.
