Hello,

I recently acquired this plant and I am not sure where to put it. Googling around seems that its mostly used as a house plant in the UK?

I thought it was hardy since the label said it resisted cold temperatures. Anyone growing this outdoors? I am in London if it matters

I have not grown this one but have seen it planted out against sunny walls. They are not as hardy as the more popular Jasmines growing in this country, but can survive in micro-climates. Provided you place it somewhere that is sheltered away from open exposed winds, it should be fine.

They tend to flower a lot earlier than Jasminum Officinale, so can be easily damaged by late frost, so that is the only draw-back. They are also not as vigorous and fast growing as the other types, so useful for smaller spaces.

I am thinking of putting this in a container in the spot marked red below. The dotted line is a fence and the solid line is a small wall dividing our house from neighbours.

It's a rather sheltered position as it doesn't get a lot of wind and gets some morning sun.

Best to keep it indoors instead? I am having troubles maintaining its shape..

If it seldom gets frost in winter and spring, it should be fine. Growing in a container will also help.

When you say frost you mean does it ever go below 0? Because it certainly does I guess, it's sheltered from cold winds and such but occasionally it can go below 0 for sure.

If it’s just occasionally below zero you may need to protect the plants with fleece or protect the pot and base of plant with fleece on colder days/nights.

Frosts can occur from 3 degrees above zero. The length of time a frost is present is also a factor, not just the temperature itself.  :)
It's why even those are other jasmines aren't hardy here, or in many other parts of the UK.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
