Magnolia doesn't flower

I have a magnolia in my front garden. It has been in situ for about 6 or 7 years but has never flowered. It is in the lawn with the grass removed around the trunk as wide as the canopy. There is plenty of sun and the soil is well drained. There are lots of magnolias close to where I live, all flowering beautifully. The leaves appear healthy but I have never had any flowers. Any ideas how to help it flower? I don't know the variety. Please help 🥺

Can you send us a photo?  I'm sure it is a Magnolia, but sometimes forum members are able to confirm that we are growing something other than what we thought we had.

Check out the GW page on How to Care for Magnolias - right at the bottom there’s a video on this very subject. I think this is common and I seem to remember that mine took a few years. I bought a fairly mature plant as I wanted to get a head start, but the poor thing just sat and sulked for a few years. I have since learnt that the shock sets them back so long you might as well buy a young plant and it will catch up!
