Position of raspberries

Hello all, please do not judge me if this is a stupid question!!

I have a yellow variety of raspberries (middle section of the planter) which grow exceptionally well and have an abundance of big, juicy fruit. I have 3 other types of 'normal' coloured raspberries elsewhere in the garden which don't do so well. As you can see, the area to the left of the yellow raspberries is currently empty, so I was thinking of transferring some of my other raspberries there to see if the superior sun and soil conditions help them.

If I have 2 different types of raspberries this close together, will they cross pollinate and form some sort of hybrid raspberry? Or is that not a 'thing'? I don't care if all my normal raspberries get jumbled up, but as the yellow ones are doing so well and are such a distinct flavour (and colour) I wouldn't really want them blending with the other ones!

The only problem you will have is that the roots will spread along that border, so you'll get canes from one variety popping-up in the middle of the others.  That's fine apart from if the varieties need different pruning regimes, in which case you'll never know which canes are which when it comes time to cut them back.

Ah thank you @BobTheGardener that is so true, I hadn't thought of that. I definitely wouldn't want them blending into each other like that so will rethink my plan!!

You could try a root barrier of some kind.  Raspberry roots don't go particularly deep, so a vertical barrier about 30cm deep should be fine. :)
