Mushroom Log - Mould?

Hi,

I've got some recently innoculated mushroom logs in my garden. I noticed today that there were some green spots growing on some of the Oyster logs. Is this normal? I'm thinking that I might have over misted/water the logs and that's encouraged mould growth 😕 if it's not normal, is there anyway to get rid of the spots?

Thanks in advance!

Fungi and moulds are part of the same group and are very similar ... what you’re seeing might be part of the mycelium of the fungus.

Thank you for the response! I really hope that's the case 🙏

Even if it’s an unrelated mould it’s unlikely to be a problem. Fungi grow on decaying organic matter. Moulds are part of the decaying process.
