Plant ID Please

Can anybody ID this plant please, it's about 32 inches at the moment. Thanks

    Looks like maize (sweetcorn) or possibly leeks going to flower?
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    Definitely a member of the grass family, so not leeks.  I wondered about sweet corn but not sure.

    They are growing under a tree so birds have dropped something. Surely far too early for sweetcorn. Thanks for suggestions so far.
