Help - Laurel leaves damaged (Vine Weevil?)

I am hoping someone may be able to help.

I planted a new Portugese Laurel Hedge last year and all was going well until this week. The plants now have leaves that look like they have been eaten by an insect, some also have strange holes. I assumed it may be Vine Weevil but have not see any activity when it is dark, is anyone able to provide some guidance/help?

Hi, I have a similar problem with my laurels. I think it may be leaf spot fungus. I'm looking for a treatment that will not harm wildlife, such as butterflies and moths.

Hi, thanks for the response. It does look like that may be the issue. It's just a bit upsetting as I have planted 60 to create some future privacy and they all are beginning to show the same symptoms. I just hope it doesn't impact the growth as they were really beginning to take off.
