Is it any different to getting rid of, snails, slugs, ants, pigeons
I don't 'get rid' of anything from my garden except marestail and self seeded hollies!

I only kill lily beetles and vine weevils. I am failing to kill bindweed. I do have naughty cats who kill mice, they don’t bother with birds at all but every now and then I have a spate of rodent corpses then nothing for weeks. Therefore I  don’t have a rodent problem but I see no harm in moving the miceto a different area.

You either use a trap which kills the mice or a trap which simply "traps" them.
If you use the latter, then you will have to release the mice somewhere - where do you choose ? Are you talking about the ubiquitous House Mice or  Field Mouse ? Far away ( driving a few miles ? ) and is the location you choose suitable for it to survive ?  If not, you may as well use a trap which kills immediately.
Releasing nearer to home may well result in your near neighbours having a similar problem and will, given time, rebound on you.
Alternatively, you could trap and take to a vet for euthanasia.

Hello Phillipa long time, house mouse,it's a bloody nightmare. Would prefer to trap said neighbour and release far far away. It's the neighbour that caused the problem,he was aware there was "lots" of mice under his decking, and keeps dry bagged food in his shed, dog and fish food

People poo poo this and especially the firms that like to kill them but what i have found helps as a deterent is mint, i place 9cm pots of mint around the garden where i don.t want mice nibbling away, the peppermint oil is also good, mice can be stubborn but with persistence i have (touch wood ) managed mice . btw any mint will do peppermint spearmint etc

darren- I shall try that, I do have mint. I really DON'T like killing things, inspite of what some folk think. Well regular poster who "know" me, are aware I could make exceptions!!!!!They are not of the 4 legged variety

I couldn't help laughing at the thought of you trying to trap your neighbour and releasing him several hundred miles away.
You'll need a big trap tho I suppose.
    Best of luck anyway
