Green fly on a Canna - Help!

Hello 👋🏻

I'm a little freaked out! I overwintered a Canna, I cut it back, potted it and put in a room over winter. I checked on it yesterday, new growth has emerged but I discovered lots of, what look like, greenfly on it! I've not dealt with them before.
My Canna is in a room with my Dahlias that I've been starting off, there doesn't appear to be any greenfly on them, will the greenfly spread to them eventually? How did they get in the room? What do I do? Help! 😱

    Take it to the sink, turn on the cold tap to a slow trickle. Put a plastic bag round the pot to contain th compost then just tip it slightly under the water and gently wash off the aphids/ Help them on their way with a finger or a little brush if they try to hang on.
    As to how they got there, the clue is in the name - fly.  Adults develop little wings. Not aeronauts but they can manage from one plant to another or hitch a lift on a breeze :)

    For a plant that size I'd suggest the shower head if you can get it there.   It might take a few blasts over a few days but you should be able to blast them off.

    I guess I meant how did they get into the closed room, but of course, they are a tiny little fly!
