Plant Identification please

Could these young plants be Bergenia?  They were growing near a clump in a friend's garden, but it's a weedy area and also has a lot of plants that I wouldn't want to propagate.  She let me have them and I first of all planted them out in my garden last Autumn and then I  erred on the side of caution and potted them up instead.  They've done really well so they're obviously not needy plants.  If they're not Bergenia, any ideas on what they could be?

Don't think they are Bergenia plants but not sure what they could be.
