Acer Osakazuki

Hi
I have the above acer that has just started growing new leaves however these are all drooping as shown in the pics. Any ideas why this would be happening and what I should do about it. Planted in a partial sunny spot and watered. Thanks for any help.

I'm not sure, but I have a recollection I've seen something similar on one of my acers some years ago.
I have a feeling it was a combination of very chilly nights then constant strong sun on fresh new leaves during the day. After a few days they perked-up.
Either way, I still have the tree and it is just beginning to unfurl its leaves.
If it's been ok so far and is not in need of water (the soil here is very dry now), I can't think what other causes there may be.

I would guess it's the cold, too.  My Acer 'Sango-kaku' had new growth which went limp and bendy after we had minus 3 one night recently.  Some bits have gone crispy, but it's now producing new leaves - fingers crossed your Osakazuki will too.   :)
