How are large, mature Strelitzia Regina plants divided?

We have two very large, mature Strelitzia Regina plants that are about 6ft tall in very large pots. They split the last pots and we managed to find two that were just a bit bigger in which to re-pot them but the really need to be divided as they are now too heavy to get out of the conservatory and into the garden for the summer without a large sack truck, planks etc., The roots are huge and getting bigger as they are obviously very happy.
As the plants have now finished flowering my question is how are they to be divided safely.

Don't know how big your pots are but could you make a pot stand with locking wheels so you can pull them outside for the summer.
