Book not arrived

Hi, my first magazine as part of my subscription has arrived (very exciting) but not the ‘freebie’ book. Has anyone else experienced this? Many thanks, Karen

Hi Karen, is this the freebie book from gardens illustrated or something along those lines? Have you emailed/messaged them to say, if so have they called you back yet?

Is this what you're referring to?

"....Monty Don's The Complete Gardener book

Receive a copy of Monty Don's book The Complete Gardener when you subscribe to BBC Gardeners World Magazine for 6 months by Direct Debit. ...."

I imagine the book is sent out under separate cover.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Mine arrived separately from the first magazine - about a week later.
Growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional.
  • Well thanks for the technology update six weeks later 🤣 there's a market for both physical and ebooks. You know what's really nice? Not to have a charge a device in order to read a book...and the tactility and high resolution is something very difficult to supersede with current technology.
E paper has terrible resolution and is useless for image reproduction, tablets have a backlight which creates eye strain no matter what.

What would be really nice @amancalledgeorge would be not having people like @GlendsWSsks sneakily advertising.
    I've reported it.

  • Ha!ha! Well done... @Fairygirl didn't click on his "apps".

And  I should like to point out that not all of us have Smart Phones, Tablets, Kindles or other such gadgets.
Also I can tell you that there is nothing as pleasing as getting hard copy of ones literary efforts.
  • I suspect the OP has long since departed..
  • You missed all the fun @Chris-P-Bacon

I don't have a smartphone either @Palustris,  and I hate reading on devices too.
The person advertising was on a couple of other threads - doing that thing of posting in a meaningless way so that they don't look suspicious, then sneaking the advert into another thread. They must think our heads zip up the back and no one will notice their obvious behaviour.
'Dumb as bricks' is how my daughter describes it.  :)
