I was hoping this was going to be wild campion. But no. Finely hairy leaves. Thanks

@Fire, Could it be Centaurea?  My wild flower mix also includes (inter alia) oregano, cornflower, vipers bugloss, phacelia. Any of these ring a bell, I haven't a clue what they look like though although I can identify some of the other mix.

By the way it is spreading out it could be one of the willowherbs.

It looks a bit like a plantain to me. The weed, not the banana!

You beat me to it, @B3.  I was going to say it looks like plantain to me, too.  I've been reading up on health benefits of common weeds and was looking recently at some pics of plantain.

I beg to differ, not a plantain. I did know what it was but my elderly brain is on strike!

Very fuzzy, hairy leaves. I know what it is too, I just can't place it. I planted a load of wild flower seeds last autumn and quite a few blow in from neighbouring gardens.

Any reason why not? It does look quite campionesque.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

I've just been pouring over pictures of Silene latifolia and they don't seem to fit. Example below.

But it won't be long before these flower. There's so much seed coming up in the bed that I have no clue about - it's just wait and see time.

I agree ... it looks like the White campions I know.  Like many wild plants, there can be a bit of variation from region to region.
