Plant ID please

Afternoon. 

Busy getting rid of what feels like thirty tons of gravel from my top border in the front garden. 

There are two of these against the wall.....

Anybody know what they are? And should they stay where they are? 

South facing front garden, against the wall so currently in the shade of the wall itself

    I tried a plant ID app and it says it’s a common snowberry. Does anyone agree with the technology?

    The leaves do look like snowberry in which case, beware.  They sucker like mad when happy and become an impenetrable thicket.  They can have white or pink berries depending on variety.

    Oh dear @Obelixx ! Thank you. They’re coming out. 

    Can I just dig them out or will they grow from roots if I don’t get them all?

    Get out what you can and then just keep an eye out for new shoots.  It helps to give them a good watering first as this will loosen the roots' grasp on the soil.

    Thank you. One of them had indeed suckered two little versions of itself further along the wall. They were a bugger to get out. @Obelixx

    They will grow from roots left behind  :|

    Have a peek over the wall and see if nextdoor have got one - could be where it came from. :)

    Not that I can see @Buttercupdays. She’s got a lot of cotoneaster 

    I had to dig out roots from three trees that the owners before last had cut down but then just covered everything in membrane and gravel. 

    It’s not pretty under that soil but I love a challenge.

    I'm not so sure - taking a leaf out of @Silver surfer 's book, this shrub seems to have each pair of leaves rotated on the stem by 90 degrees, but on Symphoricarpos albus, the pairs of leaves aren't rotated along the stem.
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
