    Can you take a picture of the plant that isn't such a close-up? It's difficult to get any sense of the size of the plant from this pic.

    Might it be Borage? Looks like it has slightly hairy leaves?

    I was wondering if it could be a pot marigold.

    I thought it looked a bit petunia-ish, particularly around the growing point, but they're not usually the kind of thing that turns up uninvited.
    Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
