I've had to bite the bullet and plant some in their final tub and put them in the greenhouse ( they are 12" tall) as they really needed support.  Trouble is its still cold at night, and predicting 3° all week, never had it so cold for so long.
  • I've tried a new pea variety this year - Meteor. Germination hasn't been great. Those that have growth is slow.

Peas,I grow Sugar Ann,Douce Provence, which you can grow/sow all year although they will need cloching in winter
  • Thanks @Nanny Beach @Chris-P-Bacon and @purplerallim - the cold drops are really messing with keeping even a slightly even temperature! I’m bringing the peas I’m trying to harden off in and out, some haven’t gone bad yet but really only a few. The weather is to drop to 0 degrees here for a run of days next week again so that doesn’t bode well for just planting out either.

Out of interest with the peas - how big would you generally want to be before planting outside ? Assuming the weather was on your side?!

Thanks a mill! Some of my sweet pea definitely taller than that so will have to get them out, maybe not the peas given the cold coming! Thanks for all the advice this has been great to learn for next year ☺️
