Oooh I sense a project in the offing ... do share ... we love a project 😉

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Haha I'll share once I've worked out what the heck it is  :D

If you class Lincolnshire as the North of England (?) , then one of our customers definitely has Jasminum beesianum as an evergreen .
In my opinion probably one of the most unwieldy and ungainly plants ; it has gone through our clients brick walls and through their paths , rooting as does J.nudiflorum .
Probably one of the most useful tools for dealing with this pest???......a good strong mattock !

I just happen to have one of those and did wonder if I could use it to rip out the invasive root system.

Not just for hacking, it's great for levering out roots too.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Great to hear. I'll give it a go. Thanks for the advice.

I'm just annoyed at buying plants labelled "vigorous" or "invasive" and finding that they are nothing of the sort in my garden. There needs to be a disclaimer that it will take 3 or more years for the plant to become vigorous.
I bought a 60-90cm lonicera halliana and expected it to scale 7ft during one season. Not the case, it's still barely 2-3ft tall. Maybe this summer it will scale the 7ft I need it to, but probably not.
