Moving my potted peony

Hello I have a paeonia suffruiticosa which I bought 2 years ago last year it was lovely and leafy no flowers this year it had four or five big bloom buds waiting to burst into flowers, but we decided to move it so it gets more sun last weekend and it’s grown about another 6/8 inches and now too big for the pot, I love this plant it’s beautiful and am worried if I leave it in a pot it’s outgrowing it will die and if I do it will die, can you please advise ?.

thank you

Do you have somewhere you could plant it in the ground?  If not, re-pot it into a larger pot, one at least 50cm in diameter.  You can plant potted plants (including peonies) into the ground at any time of the year, as long as the ground isn't frozen or waterlogged at the time.  Just make sure the soil level when planted/re-potted is the same as it is now.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
