Palm tree fungus

Hi all,

Can anyone give me some advice on how to treat whatever fungus this is on my palm tree?

This looks like an insect in Brazil called cochonilla, a type of aphid. Spray with a dilute solution of hydrogen peroxide or even common kitchen detergent. You may have to repeat. good luck!
Everyone likes butterflies. Nobody likes caterpillars.
  • Will this be safe for the tree? Do you think fungal sprays will have any effect or will they be similar to diluted hydrogen peroxide?

Are you sure it isn't mealy bug infestation? I think someone suggested this in your other thread. Lots of videos etc on the web about them. If it is an insect, fungal sprays won't work - they only work on fungus.

  • I’m pretty sure it’s mealy bugs but also been told it is fungus so I’m very confused..
